Another stadium inspired this ring. I was looking at the way the Beijing Olympic stadium was constructed from an outside perspective... This is my interpretation

The other part of "DUAL FUNCTIONAL" jewellery

A couple of months ago I made a ring inspired by the Moses Mabhida stadium... That's all good and well but I needed to take it further, to highlight the dual function of the piece. I decided the best way to highlight the dual function of the piece is to make a stand (this will make it look like a sculptural piece).... This is the result

Umhlandla wenyoka

This weaving stitch requires an odd number of strands for it to work. In this case there are 9 strands which means you split the strands up 5 on one side and 4 on the other side. A more detailed illustration coming soon

Inhlandla weave in metal

Instead of 1 spine that runs throughout the entire piece, each wire strand acts a spine eventually
